EYES The most important key to defensive driving is where a driver looks. There are 2 rules:
Looking through corners means using peripheral vision to place your vehicle in its lane. This will seem unnatural at first, but it is key to planning your vehicle's intended path. Seeing where the road goes allows you to avoid obstacles and to see a curve tighter than expected before you are in too deep. The second rule can only be followed by leaving a gap to the vehicle in front of you, looking far past it. On freeways, you will spot trouble before you are on top of it.
